Yahoo adds conference calling to IM

Yahoo Messenger with Voice

Yahoo is going to add a new plugin for conference calling, from Vapps, called ConFreeCall. Vapps is a supplier of VoIP audio conferencing services to service providers located in Hoboken, NJ. Users will be able to download the plugin from Yahoo Messenger plugins gallery. ConFreeCall will be able to support up to 500 participants. I ran a quick search in the plugin gallery but was not able to locate the plugin. Maybe it will moved soon in there.

Yahoo currently has 80 million users of “Yahoo Messenger with Voice”. Yahoo is looking at online communities, businesses, and spread out teams of people, as the users of the new service. Established player for VOIP conference is Skype, with the addition of new startups like Gizmo Project. Google has not yet announced addition of conferencing features to Google Talk, but will be under pressure to do so after news from Yahoo.

Will post more details and screenshots after I get hold of the plugin!!
