VideoEgg announces new partnerships

Web-based video publishing solution, Videoegg, announced new partnerships with best of the breed social networking sites to provide video capabilities. Partnerships have been setup with Bebo, Tagged, Hi5, AOL, Current.tv and few more, whose members will be able to post video content from virtually any device to the site quickly and easily. Bebo, Hi5 and Tagged are among the top 10 social networking sites that will help Videoegg get access to more than 40 million users. Videoegg was launched during the DEMOfall in September 2005 and received funding from August Capital and First Round Capital.

“We are thrilled to work with some of the world’s largest and most popular online social networks,” said Matt Sanchez, CEO and co-founder of VideoEgg, Inc. “It is our goal to reach as many users as possible, improving their online experience and enabling them to upload and broadcast their video content in environments where they are comfortable developing and expressing their thoughts and passions.”

VideoEgg’s Publisher, which is a small website plug-in, makes it easy for users to capture, edit, encode, and load videos using Camcorders, mobile phones, and Web cams, onto their website. These videos are than uploaded to the VideoEgg Content Delivery Network that uses highly scalable on-demand computing platform from Akamai Technologies. Uploaded videos are immediately available for viewing through the Flash-based VideoEgg Player.

Personally I believe VideoEgg is a great product and its focus on instant video delivery and great video quality will help establish itself in the market. Couple of other players in this area are – Youtube Mobile , and DropShots.com
