Picli – Digg for photos; Yet another Family20; Collaborative short stories at Scrawlers

Scrawlers: Scrawlers seems to be a nice idea – collaboration around short stories. You post your 100-word story, and get critiqued by other users in the community. Not that much to write about from the feature perspective but I am already  liking the top stories posted out there. Definitely a place to checkout as the founders themselves are participating actively in the community.

Picli: Picli, which is currently under private beta, is shaping up as Digg for photos. Basic concepts remain the same. Users upload photos, get voted on, and popular images hit the frontpage. Rest is pretty self explanatory. Submit your email address to get invited someday.

Family20: If you thought you have come across enough of “2.0”s and social networks for families you are going to be proven wrong. Family20, which launches in another 5 days, will provide capabilities like family tree mapping, photo sharing, calendars, reminders, maps, networking tools……whatever.

Famiva, formerly family20 mentioned above, is now live. Yes, it does sound like yet another social network but what I think differentiates Famiva from the rest is that everything is integrated very well with the family tree. Anyway, it is a free service, everyone is welcome to explore and evaluate for themselves. We’d love to hear everyone’s critical feedback.

    Cheers,
