Coupa gives away eProcurement solution for free

Coupa is onto doing some firsts in the software industry. Last month Coupa announced availability of it’s Coupa eProcurement Express solution for free while paying for Per-incident support packs. The eProcurement solution is targeted at mid-sized businesses having 100 to 5,000 employees. Available via LGPL license, Coupa from the technology perspective is built on Ruby on Rails, and also uses Dojo toolkit among other things. The product enables employees to requisition products and services while taking care of approval workflow, catalog and contract pricing, purchase order automation, receipt and delivery. Tagging, rating of products and vendors, are couple of other Web20 features applied on the enterprise product.

Coupa was co-founded in 2006 by Oracle veterans Dave Stephens and Noah Eisner, who together built and grew Oracle’s purchasing solution used in Fortune 1000 companies. Last month Coupa had announced closing of it’s Series A round of funding led by BlueRun Ventures.
