Google gets Tonic to deliver Presentations

Fun headline aside, this is serious business. Google today announced that it has acquired Australia based Tonic Systems that has developed technology for presentation creation and document conversion. Google will be using this to Google Presentation app sometime this summer. Again, no financial details about the deal have been disclosed.

Personally I am just tired of seeing smart innovators bailing too quickly in the face of Google’s pressure. I know getting money now is better than dreaming of millions tomorrow, but I think it would be much more profitable eventually. Considering EditGrid, Preezo, and Virtub or Conventi plan to together and deliver a composite solution and eventually are able to signup 1 million users in next 5 years paying $5/month, I think would a much better deal that what they would get from Google or Microsoft.

Eitherway I think this is high time for Jason@Preezo to launch his Powerpoint killer app.
