myTriggers does ShopBIG; Yet another CSE

Early morning today myTriggers launched a new comparison shopping engine – ShopBIG. I had written about myTriggers last year when they had launched their Cost-per-Action(CPA) based product search engine that combined persistent search feature.

As of now I not really sure for the reason behind ShopBIG’s launch and trying to get in touch with the team at myTriggers to get more details on this change. With Google Product search and PowerReviews pitching in very strong comparison engines you can expect some movement in the shopping search space.

Anyway myTriggers is claiming that ShopBIG is powered by the latest version of the same powerful search engine behind myTriggers.com that is supposed to provide better search results. New features added just to ShopBIG besides what were present at myTriggers include tax & shipping calculator, popular item previews, reviews, product specifications. Stores getting indexed now also include CD Universe, Target, GNC, FAO Schwartz, Liz Claiborne, B&H Photo, Ace Hardware, DKNY. These are in addition to Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot,…. that were being indexed before. One thing that ShopBIG/myTriggers still doesn’t do is search by attributes, something that PowerReviews and Google Product Search are pretty good at. However what continues to impress me about ShopBIG/myTriggers is the speed at which you can search and browse at the site. I would say the pages load faster as compared to speed king Google.
